Kidnapping: FG inaugurates committee for security surveillance system along Abuja-Kaduna highway

The committee has 18 months to complete the assignment.

365Daily – The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has inaugurated the 8-man committee constituted for the installation of security surveillance system along Abuja-Kaduna highway and rail line.

Speaking on Tuesday in Abuja, Badaru said the surveillance system would checkmate the incessant security breaches along the routes.

Headed by the Director of Joint Services in the ministry, the panel has members drawn from all security agencies.

The minister, who is the immediate past governor of Jigawa State, further said the event signified a remarkable milestone in ensuring safety along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway and Railway.

He charged the committee to live up to its task, while expressing confidence that it would deliver tangible results to actualise the Federal Government’s goal to address security concerns in the country.

Badaru said the committee’s terms of reference include sourcing for security surveillance system that meets the technical specifications, ensuring its successful installation, and suggesting other measures necessary for the seamless implementation of the system.

The committee has 18 months to complete the assignment.
