365Daily– Supreme Court has dismissed a request by the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to file additional charges in his petition against the declaration of President Bola Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.

Atiku had sought to include the deposition of the Chicago State University (CSU) on the certificate obtained by President Bola Tinubu from the institution, which he presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to contest the 2023 presidential election.

But the apex court rejected the Appellant’s Deposition, saying the Section 22 180-day timeframe is immutable and cannot be extended.

It added that the matter had not been treated in the lower Courts and so, cannot be entertained.

Consequently, the panel of the Supreme Court Justices led by Justice Inyang Okoro, said it lacks jurisdiction to hear Atiku Abubakar’s case.
