Progressive Empowerment Project for Nigerian Women berths in Lagos

Time has come to re-write the narrative of the Nigerian women, which will go a long way in giving women access to financial support

The coordinator, Progressive Empowerment Project for Nigerians, Comrade Olajumoke Omolola, an entrepreneur and environmental consultant presided over the inaugural meeting of the Lagos State Chapter of Empowerment Programme held on Saturday 15th of July, 2023, in Ikeja, Lagos.

In her Welcome Address, Comrade Olajumoke stated that the Empowerment Project represents a bold step taken to address the worrisome issue of empowerment amongst Nigerian women.

PEP4NW, a laudable Empowerment initiative came on stream as a special gift of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to open a wider window of Empowerment opportunities for women across the country.

In the words of the Lagos State Co-ordinator, the time has come to re-write the narrative of the Nigerian women, which will go a long way in giving women access to financial support; build up a means of livelihood; achieve growth in their enterprise; lessen their vulnerability as well as increase their economic and financial independence. The National Co-ordinator, Comrade Mrs. Ene Assumtemario Ogidi and the Chairman Hajia Zainab Abubakar in their respective goodwill message urged members to be good ambassadors of the Empowerment Project to make it take deep roots and consequently help raise the number of beneficiaries in their respective local government areas.

Members of PEP4NW Lagos State that attended the meeting came from Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State.
