Alledged terrorism sponsorship: APC chieftain, Gololo, commends DSS over Emefiele’s indictment

I am urging the president and the DSS to arrest Emefiele and any Nigerian, no matter highly placed to face the wrath of the law, if they are found guilty

Dr. Garus Gololo, an All Progressives Congress (APC), chieftain and Coordinator of North-East Coalition for Peace and Justice, has urged the Department of State Service (DSS), to remain focus while commending its Director General Yusuf Bichi for exemplary leadership.

Gololo, reacting to the calls by a section of the Civil Society Organizations (CSO) during a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday described the call as mere distraction.

“The call for the sack or removal of DG Bichi, by some self-styled CSOs is a mere distraction and a cover-up to shied away the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Ifeanyichukwu Emefiele to render account of his alleged complicity in funding, aiding and pilfering of our common wealth.

“It is the same groups who masquerade under the guise of CSO using different names, religion when it suits their purpose to lure him into the presidential race even when they were aware it is against extant laws.

“I am urging the president and the DSS to arrest Emefiele and any Nigerian, no matter highly placed to face the wrath of the law, if they are found guilty”.

According to Gololo, a retired military officer turned politician, “There is nowhere in the world where a group of people will constitute themselves into a pressure group or CSO to interrupt security agency from performing its constitutional duty like we are seeing now.

“This is the same country that a section of CSO want DSS to go after Gumi, after the arrest of Mamu for an alleged terrorism”

Speaking further Gololo lamented that “Unless something urgent is done to check the activities of some of these groups, Nigeria as country will witness a surge in crime and corruption. All it takes is to steal, commit crime; look for some young men and women to adopt a name as civil society organizations to defend you.

“Where were the CSOs when Joshua Dariye, Jolly Name and Orji Kalu were arrested and jailed?”

In the same vein, the All Progressives Congress chieftain implored the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese Bishop Kukah to maintain some level of public decorum while reacting to national issues

“We so much respect Bishop Kukah, but I urged him to exercise his priesthood with some dot of decorum that will not give him away as a religious bigot or partisan.

His criticism of the President Buhari-led government sometimes paints him as member of the opposition party.

“Before Buhari came to power, the entire Borno state and some parts of Adamawa were under the control of Boko Haram. Even if he cannot acknowledge any achievement of the Buhari’s administration, credit should be given to him for the peace in Borno and Adamawa state”, he said.
