The Anambra Fire Service has confirmed the incident of a fire outbreak at the popular Ogbo Osisi timber market in Onitsha Head Bridge.
The Director/Fire Chief of Anambra Fire Services, Mr Martin Agbili, made the confirmation while speaking with newsmen on Sunday in Onitsha.
Agbili said that the incident took place late on Saturday.
According to him, “as soon as I received the distress call about the fire incident in Ogbo Osisi timber market, I immediately deployed our fire fighters to the scene.
“My men immediately brought the situation under control. Thank God that no life was loss, though some plywood and planks were destroyed,” he said.
