Ntezi Community in Ebonyi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria on the company’s corporate social responsibility to the area.
The Special Assistant to Gov. David Umahi on Media and Strategy, Mr Chooks Oko, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Abakaliki and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
Oko stated that the agreement was signed during the State Excutive Council meeting at the Government House, Abakaliki.
“The agreement is to establish a branch of a pharmaceutical company in the community and boost business,” it stated.
The statement also announced the swearing in of Mr Collins Eze as a Special Assistant on Technical Assistants (TAs) to the Governor.
Until his appointment, Eze was the Chairman, Forum of former TAs.
Umahi was said to have charged Eze to curtail financial leakages in streetlight management and diesel procurement.
“We needed to do this appointment because of the situation we have found ourselves in the Ministry of Power.
“I did everything in the past seven months to see how to stop the leakages until I decided to suspend everybody that is connected to the generators and fuel and I brought Eze and the leakages stopped.
“I charge you to work very hard to justify the confidence reposed in you,” Umahi reportedly told the new appointee.
