Katsina Police reinstates ban on movement of motorcycles at night

”The reinforcement of the ban is due to the recent threat to security caused by terrorists and other criminals using motorcycles.”

365Daily – The Katsina State Police Command has announced that the ban on motorcycle movement between 10p.m to 6a.m within the city will be reinforced by its operatives.

Katsina State Government had restricted motorcycle movements due to insecurity, but the Governor of the State, Aminu Masari, lifted the restriction to ease movement during the month of Ramadan.

Spokesman of the Command, SP Gambo Isa, in a press statement issued on Monday, August 1, 2022, in Katsina, warned that the earlier order has been reinstated.

He, however, added that in other Local Government Areas, especially the frontline areas, the restriction on motorcycle remained from 6p.m to 6a.m.

According to him, the enforcement was necessary due to rising activities by terrorists and other criminals using motorcycles.

He stated: “I am directed to draw the attention of the general public that the ban on the movement of motorcycles from 10p.m-6a.m in Katsina city is still in force.

“While in the frontline LGAs from 6p.m to 6a.m. It was temporarily lifted to ease movements during Ramadan.”
