NPC urges Nigerians to disregard fake recruitment portal

365Daily – The National Population Commission, NPC, has urged Nigerians to disregard a fake online recruitment portal describing it as handiwork of fraudsters who want to take advantage of its earlier recruitment exercise to defraud members the public.

In a press statement issued on Monday, July 18, 2022 by the Commission, signed by its Director, Public Affairs, Mr. Isiaka Yahaya, titled: ‘NPC Recruitment Portal Circulating on Social Media is a Scam’, said that the information is totally false and misleading.

The Commission dissociated itself from the portal and reiterated that its recruitment portal for the ongoing Trial Census is no longer active and was shut down the moment it concluded its recruitment process for the exercise.

It will be recalled that on May 30, 2022, the NPC announced through its media platform for the recruitment of ad-hoc staff for the Trial Census exercise nationwide.

The Commission said the recruitment of the 14,461 field functionaries has been concluded and the Trial Census had commenced on 27th June 2022.

Meanwhile, the Commission said it is taking every necessary measure to uncover those behind the fraudulent recruitment site, and warned scammers to desist from the act as the Commission will not hesitate to bring the full weight of the law to bear on them.
