Children’s Day: Foundation hosts indigent children in Abuja, Lagos, Jos

Dreamhill Foundation, a nonprofit organisation that promotes equal educational opportunities, has organised a Children’s Day Funfair for indigent children to mark this years Children’s Day celebration.

May 27 is always set aside in Nigeria to celebrate the children.

But the funfair and empowerment programme facilitated by the NGO, were held in three locations, Abuja, Lagos and Jos, Plateau state, on Saturday, May 28, 2022, respectively.

According to the organisers, similar events have been hosted in Jos, in the past three years, to commemorate Children’s Day, especially with indigent children, who ordinarily would not have the means to celebrate on that day like their more affluent mates.

Mr. Femi Olaojo, founder of Dreamhills, disclosed that the foundation hosted 100 children each in Lagos and Abuja, and 70 children in Jos this year, as part of its plan to reach more children with this unique message of love, across the nation.

According to Olaojo, apart from the party and games, the children also received skill acquisition trainings, pep talks on how to be better in life, in order to add value to their lives and the society.

They also received gift packs that contained school materials such as books, pencils, erasers and sharpeners. They were also given snacks, juice and toys.
