365Daily – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has set its primary elections for presidential, governorship, state assemblies, House of Representatives and Senate for May 30, 18, 20, 22 and 24, respectively.
This is just as it pegged the cost of its forms for presidential at N100 million, governorship N50 million, state assemblies N2 million, House of Representatives N10 million and Senate N20 million.
Female aspirants and people living with disabilities are to purchase the expression of interest forms while the nomination forms are free for each position.
These were approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party at its meeting since the inauguration of the new party executives on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Transcorp Hotelin Abuja.
NEC also approved the reduction of the cost of nomination forms for political aspirants under the age of 40 by 50 percent.
It also released he proposed schedule of activities leading to the 2023 General elections and stated as follows: Notice of election to state chapters will begin on April 22, 2022; sales of forms at APC Secretariat April 23 – Friday, May 6, 2022; Congress to elect state and national delegates May 7 – 9, 2022 and last day of submission of forms and accompanying documents at the party Secretariat on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
Screening of aspirants for State House of Assembly and Governorship will hold on May 12, House of Representatives and Senate, May 13 and Presidential, May 14, 2022. Publication of claims and objections will follow from 13 to 15 May.
Screening appeals will start on May 14 and end on the 23rd, followed by the primary elections for state assemblies, National Assembly and the Presidency, respectively. Appeals will hold on May 20 to 26, while Congress for presidential primaries will hold on May 30.
The notice of the schedule of events was signed by the National Organising Secretary of the APC, Sulaiman Muhammed Argungu on April 20, 2022.
