What you may not know about Nigerian singer, Spyce

Born Ugbekile David Osemeke but professionally known as Boy Spyce is a Nigerian Afrobeat singer and song writer who rose to fame after his freestyle video for Wizkidʼs hit song “Essence” featuring Tems went viral on the internet.

He was born on May 10, 2001, into the family of Mr and Mrs Ugbekile in Edo State Nigeria. He was raised and spent his formative years residing in Jakande Estate Isolo.

Early Life

Boy Spyce as young boy has always had interest in music as he often spent time dishing out freestyles and sharing them on his social media.

He drew huge attention to himself after his cover of Wizkid song “Essence” featuring Tems went viral. Receiving positive reviews from his audience at that time, he became resolute in his decision to pursue music full time.

Education

The talented music star attended Lagos State Model College Kankon, Badagry.

Though not much about Boy Spyce educational background is known yet but he is said to be studying accounting in the tertiary Institution at the moment.

Career

Boy Spyce who is known for his freestyles has continued to build a strong fan base after he went viral for it.

On the 14th of April, 2022, popular Nigerian music producer and the owner of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy announced the signing of Boy Spyce to his label. Don Jazzy revealed that he has kept a close watch on the young lad since 2019.

Boy Spyce joined the strong alumni network of successful music stars in the label like, Rema, Crayon, Ayra Starr, DiʼJa, Korede Bello, Dr SID, Johnny Drille, Ladipoe, DNA Twins, Magixx and others.

On 15th April, 2022 He broke into the music stage officially with his debut EP project tagged “Boy Spyce” which was released under his new record label.
