365Daily – Veteran Nollywood actor and lawyer, Anayo Onyekwere, popularly referred to as Kanayo .O. Kanayo or KOK, has marked his diamond jubilee.
Celebrating the milestone birthday, the actor, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, shared pictures to show his 60 year journey, while acknowledging God for his faithfulness upon his life and for his accomplishments.
He tweeted: “The young boy From Oboama Ezinihitte Mbaise that went to Enugu to school, sold akamu and agidi to survive is now 60.Things only God can do.
#KOKat60 #CelebratingKOKat60.”
Widely known for his occultist and stingy man roles in most of his movies, Kanayo made his debut movie appearance in the film: “Living in bondage,” in 1992.
Since then, he has starred in over 100 films, including “Up North” and “Breaking Free.”
He was nominated in 2008 for African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in the movie: “Across the Niger.”
Kanayo was among various Nigerians honoured by the Federal Government in 2014 during the centenary celebration with the award of Member Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He enrolled with the University of Abuja and in 2019 graduated with a Law degree before proceeding to the Nigerian Law School, Abuja campus, and was called to bar in 2020.
