2023: Gov. Tambuwal begins consultations for presidential race

365Daily – Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has declared interest in running for the office of the President in next year’s elections.

The Governor, who disclosed this at a stakeholders meeting in Sokoto on Monday, January 31, 2022, said he will proceed to begin nationwide consultations on his presidential bid.

Tambuwal, who is amember of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP), sought the party’s presidential ticket ìn 2018 but came second to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

With this development, he joins Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, former Senate President and ex-Kwara Governor, Bukola Saraki and Ovation boss, Dele Momodu, in the quest for the number 1 office.

Speaking at the meeting, Tambuwal reeled out his credentials, stressing that he is not only well prepared for the office, but also ready to fix the numerous problem of the country as President of Nigeria.

He added that as Speaker of the House of Representatives and in his 7 years as Governor, he has been without any blemish or corruption tag.
