The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi State Command, says it has trained 32 Special Female Squad, to enhance campaign against criminal activities in the state.
NSCDC’s spokesman, SP Adamu Garkuwa, stated this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Bauchi.
Garkuwa said the 32 female squad would complement efforts of the command in investigation, prevention of crime and women related cases.
Garkuwa said that the squad would be inaugurated on Nov. 2, adding that the initiative would improve the command’s effective service delivery and proactiveness in the protection of lives and property in the state.
Commenting on Ember months campaign, Garkuwa said the command had intensified efforts towards ensuring adequate protection of citizens and their properties.
He, however, said that Ember months were not different from any other period in the year except the increased in the social and economic activities that triggered incidence of vandalism, stealing and criminal activities.
“All necessary equipment and infrastructure will be adequately manned as we have been doing before now, surveillance and monitoring should also be in place,” he said. (NAN)
