Ebonyi Governor suspends Coordinator for traveling outside the state

365Daily – Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has ordered the immediate suspension of the Coordinator, Ohaozara Development Centre, Mr. Obinna Ekezie, over what the government tagged ‘serious act of misconduct and for travelling outside the state without official permission’.

This development was made known by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Ugbala Kenneth Igwe who also ordered the suspended Coordinator to hand over to his office with immediate effect while Mr. Peter Akpa would take over on acting capacity.

According to the public service announcement, which was posted by the state government, “His Excellency, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr Dr David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE, has approved the immediate indefinite suspension of Mr Obinna Ekezie as Coordinator, Ohaozara Development Centre.

“The indefinite suspension is as a result of serious acts of misconduct bordering on dishonesty and travelling outside the State without official permission.

“Consequently, Mr Obinna Ekezie is directed to hand over all government property in his possession to the Secretary to the State Government/Coordinating Commissioner not later than 4pm today 8th August, 2021.

“In a similar development, His Excellency, the Governor has approved the appointment of Mr Peter Akpa as Acting Coordinator, Ohaozara Development Centre with immediate effect”, Ugbala stated.

Governor David Umahi eventually comes from the same Ohaozara local government area of the state.
