365Daily– Organisers and agitators of the Yoruba Nation rally failed to show up at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos venue despite insistence that the event must hold.
The Yoruba Nation rally was convened by Mr. Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, who has gone into hiding after a raid on his residence by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday, July 1, 2021.
The  Lagos State Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, had earlier warned that it would not allow any form of rally by agitators of the Oodua Republic and Yoruba Nation.

Neither the organisers of the Yoruba Nation rally, nor participants were present at the venue as at the time of report.

Odumosu had earlier visited the venue, which had been been taken over by the Police and other security operatives, including the Army, RRS Attack, Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Lagos State Task Force and Cannon trucks.

There has been no statement from Igboho’s Spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki, on the status of the rally.

Residents of the area, commuters and motorists were going about their daily activities peacefully.
