….As Speaker Gbajabiamila directs House Security Committees to address their demands
365Daily – Parents of the abducted students of the College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, took a protest against the handling of their children’s kidnap by government authorities to the National Assembly complex, Abuja.
Thirty-nine students were abducted from their hostels in the college located on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway on March 11, 2021.
Members of the Students Union Government (SUG) of the institution accompanied the parents to the Federal Parliament Complex.
They decried alleged nonchalance by the Kaduna and Federal Government in securing the release of the children while chanting songs of solidarity and brandishing placards and pleading for their release.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has directed all security related committees of the House to interface with the families of the abducted students and relevant security agencies with a view to securing their release.
The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, has vowed not to negotiate with bandits, saying it is unlawful.
