Police arrests 1 over attack on Soludo’s country home

365Daily – Following the bloody attack on Isuofia Civic Centre, in Anambra State, while a former Central Bank Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, was hosting a town hall meeting, the state Commissioner of Police,Monday Bala Kuryas, has announced the arrest of one of the gunmen involved in the incident.

The attack, which took place on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, led to the death of three police officers attached to Soludo.

Soludo is an aspirant in the upcoming Anambra State governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The attackers also abducted Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne, identified as the Commissioner of Public Utilities in the state.

The Police Commissioner, who visited the scene of the crime for an on-the-spot assessment, disclosed that “tacit investigations” had commenced into the incident.

The CP also visited the former CBN governor in order to reinforce security around him and the entire community, according to a statement issued by DSP Ikenga Tochukwu Anipr, PPRO, Anambra State Police Command.

The PPRO said in the statement that the CP, while condemning the act, commiserated with the families and friends of the officers who paid the supreme price.

He assured the public that the police would unravel the mystery behind the incident and bring the perpetrators of the barbaric act to book. The CP also called on the good people of Anambra state to join hands with the police in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.
