Fear has enveloped many humanitarian staffs after Boko Haram insurgents struck, abducted a Senior Protection Assistant with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Abubakar Garba Idris Alooma along Maiduguri-Damaturu highway.
Witnesses told AljazirahNigeria that the armed men believed to be insurgent attacked some convoy of commuters near Matari village between Minok to Jakana road where Alooma was kidnapped on Saturday “witness said.
One of the driver who spoke on condition of anonymity said the insurgents stormed the highway in large numbers and mounted an illegal checkpoint around Minok, few kilometres to Maiduguri from where they picked their victims.
Community source said during the act, scores of commercial and private-owned vehicles were caught up in the attack while terrorists operated in military uniforms on the highway with four Hilux vans and motorcycles.

Another sources said: “While searching the passengers, one of the passenger, Mallam Idris, attempted to throw away his identification card, but on the process, one of the insurgents pointed at him, and immediately direct him to step down from the car.
Eyewitness confirmed that after taking an hour searching the passengers from the cars then asked them to step down from the vehicle along with three other passengers, while the rest of the passengers were ask to followed the militants group into the bush.
The three surviving passengers were confirmed released on the ground that they are very poor people and have no use to be abducted by the insurgents.
