The Justice Ayo Salami-led probe panel on alleged infractions by the suspended Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu, has recommended his sack.

The recommendation was contained in its final report presented to President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House on Friday.

The panel was inaugurated by the president in July, with a 45 day deadline to submit its report. The time was later extended upon the panel’s request.

365Daily reports that Magu was  accused of corruption, mismanagement, lack of transparency in managing recovered assets by the commission, as well as abuse of office by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

The panel, in its report, urged President Buhari to  look beyond the police force in appointing the next chairman of the anti-graft body.

It also recommended that the acting EFCC chairman should be retained in the position for 2 years on the interim.
