Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has inspected the newly constructed headquarters of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Enugu ahead of the official unveiling of the facility.
Mbah commenced the visit at the organisation’s former headquarters before proceeding to the new facility, where he joined other dignitaries for an inspection of the ongoing project.
The inspection tour was led by the Chief Executive Officer of Walsh Blanc, Uloma Nwosu, the company overseeing the construction of the new headquarters.
Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, and the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Sen. John Azuta Mbata, were also present during the inspection.
Information about the project indicates that Okorocha is fully funding the construction, while Walsh Blanc is responsible for its execution and supervision.
The facility is reportedly about 85 per cent complete and is expected to be formally unveiled after the completion of the remaining works.
The new headquarters is designed to serve as a permanent home for Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Enugu and provide a befitting environment that reflects the organisation’s identity, history and heritage.
The facility is also expected to provide a platform for greater interaction, collaboration and unity among Ndigbo.
The inspection formed part of preparations for the planned unveiling of the headquarters as construction work progresses towards completion.
