365Daily – Fresh political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections gathered momentum on Sunday as former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, and ex-Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, entered high-level consultations with the leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), led by Senator Seriake Dickson, in Abuja.
The ongoing meeting in Abuja is part of a series of strategic engagements aimed at forging a possible alliance or facilitating a defection into the fast-rising opposition platform.
Obi was accompanied by several lawmakers including Sen Victor Umeh and Hon Victor Afam Ogene.
The talks come amid intensifying uncertainty within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), where both leaders have been key figures in a fragile opposition coalition. Insiders say unresolved disputes over the party’s presidential ticket and internal leadership tensions have strained the alliance.
