The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Bayero, has called on traders to avoid increasing the prices of foodstuffs and other essential items during the holy month of Ramadan.
The emir made the call on Saturday in Kano at the Quranic graduation ceremony for 26 students of Andal Science Academy.
In his address, Bayero stressed the importance of maintaining fair pricing during Ramadan to ensure that the less privileged can fully partake in the blessings of the holy month.
Bayero further urged wealthy individuals to extend their support to the underprivileged, especially during this sacred period.
The royal father also emphasised the need for a balanced education system, urging the government to invest in both Western and Islamic education.
He stressed that such investments would help foster a well-rounded and educated generation for the future.
The emir reminded parents of their critical role in ensuring that their children grow up with discipline and strong moral values.
Bayero also urged the graduates of Andal Science Academy to show respect to their parents, teachers, and community leaders.
He encouraged them to remain focused on their studies, Bayero noted that science education, in particular, is vital to the nation’s future.
The royal father called on parents and teachers to continue providing children with sound education and proper upbringing, which would shape them into responsible leaders of tomorrow.
Earlier, Dr Jibrila Muhammad, the proprietor of the academy, described the ceremony as a historic moment for the institution, as it marked the graduation of 26 students, consisting of 13 males and 13 females.
Muhammad reiterated the academy’s commitment to delivering quality education that integrates both Islamic and Western knowledge.
He called the event a “memorable day” for the academy, reflecting its dedication to academic excellence and moral discipline.
“Today is a significant day in the history of Andal Science Academy,” Muhammad said.
“We are proud to graduate 26 students who have successfully completed a curriculum that blends Islamic knowledge with Western education.
“Our mission has always been to create a disciplined environment where both educational disciplines are valued equally,” he said.
The event ended with prayers for the graduates’ success, as well as for peace, unity, and stability in the country.
