The chairman of Bauchi State Teachers Service Commission, Hon Hamisu Mohammad along with his entourage paid visitation to the Chairman House Committee on Education at Bauchi State House of Assembly.
Hamisu Mohammad made this known to media after the meeting with the committee, saying the essence of the visit is to seek more areas of collaboration with the state house in-order to enhance productivity in the service delivery sector.
He expressed deep concern on how some organizations are making attempt to hijack the responsibilities of the commission, pleaded with the assembly to intervene.
Meanwhile, the teachers service commission boss used the medium to appeal to the lawmakers to use their veto powers in resolving this lingering issue as enshrined in the commission amended laws of 2009 and 2011 respectively.
He reiterated that the state teachers service commission has been empowered to carry out all recruitment of teachers, promotion, demotion, discipline, supervision and welfare of teachers across Bauchi State.
Responding, the chairman Bauchi State House Committee on Education, Hon Nasiru Ala commended the commission for a job well done in respect to her obligations in accordance with the law.
He however, commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his administration’s readiness in supporting education development across Bauchi state.
