20 abducted medical students in Benue regain freedom

Luck has come the way of 20 medical students who were last Thursday kidnapped in Benue State while on their way to attend the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students’ annual convention in Enugu.

According to report, the students were rescued through the effort of combined security forces including the Nigerian Police Force, Department of State Service, and Nigerian Army personnel with the support of Benue State Government.

The 20 medical students from the University of Jos and their counterparts from University of Maiduguri were abducted last Thursday along the Otukpo/Otukpa way.

Before their rescue, some members of Inspector-General Team had arrived Benue State on Monday and were deployed to Otukpo in search of the abducted students.
