365Daily – Many Nigerians have expressed their displeasure on social media over a letter of suspension handed over to some students of the College of Nursing and Midwifery in Maidugri,  Borno State due to their inability to come out and welcome President Muhammadu Buhari during his recent official visit to the state.

The suspension which was signed by the provost of the college said the offence of the affected students is for “not coming out to welcome the president”, and so should proceed on a one-week suspension, and to only return to the institution being “accompanied by their parents or wards”.

This development has set the social media awash with condemnation from citizens who felt the provost was exhibiting some acts of overzealousness just to please the government

Others equally called for the sack of the provost for putting politics above academic well-being of the students.
