Bauchi Visitation Panel calls for Improved Education at Aminu Saleh College

Governor Bala Mohammed has demonstrated commitment to improving the standard of education in the state

The Visitation Panel, constituted by Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has begun its assignment at Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare, calling for improved standards and better welfare across tertiary institutions in the state.

The panel was received by the college’s management during an official visit. Provost Professor Sadiya Mohammed hosted the committee in her office for an introductory and informative engagement.

The committee is chaired by Emeritus Professor Mohammed Abdulaziz, former Vice-Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, while Malam Mukhtar Alhaji serves as Secretary, alongside other members.

Speaking during the engagement, the Chairman, Professor Mohammed Abdulaziz, said the panel’s visit was aimed at assessing the operations and challenges confronting the institution and making recommendations that would contribute to the advancement of education in Bauchi State.

He explained that the assignment was undertaken in the best interest of humanity and the development of quality education, stressing the need for initiatives that would improve the welfare of students and lecturers as well as infrastructure and other critical facilities in tertiary institutions.

Professor Abdulaziz said Governor Bala Mohammed had demonstrated commitment to improving the standard of education in the state and charged the committee to produce a comprehensive and impactful report that would assist the government in addressing identified challenges.

He assured the governor and stakeholders that the committee would approach the assignment with diligence and professionalism.

In her response, the Provost of Aminu Saleh College of Education, Professor Sadiya Mohammed, commended the visitation panel for undertaking the important assignment.

She also expressed appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammed for his continued support towards strengthening the capacity and development of the institution.

Professor Sadiya warmly welcomed the committee to Azare and wished its members a successful and fruitful stay throughout the duration of the exercise.

As part of its engagements, the panel also paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Katagum, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Umar Kabir Umar, to seek royal blessings and prayers for the success of its assignment.

The Emir commended Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration for what he described as positive transformation, peace and unity across Bauchi State.

He also praised the leadership of Professor Sadiya Mohammed for her efforts in steering the affairs of Aminu Saleh College of Education.

The committee further paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Katagum Local Government Area, where it commended the council leadership for its efforts towards bringing development closer to the grassroots.

The series of engagements formed part of the panel’s efforts to gather relevant information and perspectives from key stakeholders as it carries out its mandate across tertiary institutions in the state.
