At least 16 people have been killed in Russia and 11 in Ukraine as both countries continued exchanging drone and missile attacks, according to officials on both sides.
Russian authorities said the latest wave of Ukrainian strikes claimed lives in several regions, including the Moscow region, Krasnodar, Crimea and Belgorod.
Russia’s state news agency, TASS, reported on Tuesday that five people were killed and six others injured in a drone attack on the Moscow region, citing regional officials.
In southern Russia, Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said seven people, including three children, died after drone debris fell on the resort village of Arkhipo-Osipovka near Gelendzhik on Monday. Nearly 40 others were reportedly injured in the incident.
In Russian-occupied Crimea, Moscow-installed governor Sergey Aksyonov said the death toll from recent attacks had risen to four, while two other people sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, acting Belgorod Governor Alexander Shuvaev said four civilians were killed and 17 others wounded in attacks on settlements close to the Russian-Ukrainian border.
On the Ukrainian side, authorities reported that Russian strikes killed at least 11 people across different regions.
Three people, including an emergency response worker and his eight-year-old son, were killed after a Russian attack hit a petrol station in the Kryvyi Rih district of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said the strike triggered a fire that engulfed the filling station and damaged several nearby vehicles.
Ukraine’s Health Ministry said 21 people, including three children, were taken to hospital following the attack, with nine victims reported to be in critical condition.
In a separate overnight assault, eight people, including two children, were killed in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region.
The latest casualties underscore the continued escalation of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, with both sides accusing each other of carrying out deadly attacks on civilian areas.
