2023: Atiku meets PDP Govs, strategizes on elections, Running Mate

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar today met with the party’s Governors’ Forum in Abuja in order to fashion out ways in which the party will prosecute the forthcoming general elections next year.

After the meeting, the former Vice President described the enthusiasm of the Governors towards winning the forthcoming elections and the subsequent task of reconstructing the country as “overwhelming.”

This is as the Chairman of the Governors’ Forum, Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state reaffirmed that the “consultative meeting’ was “on matters concerning the way forward.”

According to Alhaji Abubakar, “my meeting with the PDP-Governors’ Forum today gives delightful assurance that the fabric of unity in our party continues to be strengthened.

“The energy to work together to win the general election and start the work of rebuilding the country is overwhelming,” he added.

Speaking to journalists after meeting, Gov. Tambuwal explained that: “we talked about cooperation and collaboration in prosecuting a very successful electioneering campaign that will result into victories for the PDP at various elections from the state Houses of Assembly, national election, Governorship and the Presidential election come February, 2023.

Without elaborating on the matter, Gov. Tambuwal told news men that the meeting deliberated on the choice of who will be Alhaji Abubakar’s running mate.

The Governors’ Forum, he said, also commended the leadership and members of the party “for a very successful national convention.”

“The national chairman along with the candidate came to thank the Governors for their roles at the convention,” he emphasized.
