365Daily – Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has described the terrorist attack at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, as abominable and sacrilegious.

He made this in a press statement he signed on Monday, June 6, 2022.

He noted that just when the nation reeled in the aftermath of the despicable act of some miscreants who abducted the Prelate of the Methodist Church, Samuel Kanu Uche, at Umunneochi council area of Abia State, another set of unknown gunmen struck
St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State,  killing scores.

He continued: “The brigandage of the heartless executioners on the innocent worshippers at the congregation during a service to mark the holiday of Pentecost, further demonstrates the abyss of bad governance and insecurity that our nation has fallen into in the past seven years.

“This is mortally unfortunate, terrifying and calls for a serious re-evaluation of the crass irresponsibility that have characterized rudderless steering of the ship of state.

“As I, on behalf of the Government and good people of Sokoto State condole the Government of my counterpart, Arakurin Rotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo state, I condemn in strong terms, the unpleasant attack on the congregation at Owo church.

“I also pray for those who lost their lives, the wounded and hospitalized, while extending my administration and state’s condolences to the families of those who loss their lives, the Catholic Church and the good people of Ondo State.

“I pray and believe that this too shall not pass. We shall all, in the fullness of time, overcome these orgy of violence threatening our collective existence in the country.”
