PDP reschedules Governorship, NASS primaries to May 22, 23 and 25

365Daily – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rescheduled its state assembly, National Assembly and Governorship primaries.

The party made this known in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), dated Monday, May 16, 2022 and co-signed by the Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and its National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu.

Entitled “Re: Timetable and schedule of activities, notice of party congresses, primaries and national convention,” the party informed the election umpire that due to unforeseen circumstances, it has rescheduled its primaries.

In the new schedule, the governorship primaries will now hold on Wednesday, May 25, 2022; Senate, May 23; House of Representatives, May 22 and State House of Assembly, Saturday, May 21, 2022.

For the south-dastern states, the Senate primaries will hold on May 24, 2022, the party stated, due to the sit-at-home being observed in the region on Mondays.
