The Family Law Centre in Abakaliki has orders Uchechukwu Eze, perpetrator of domestic violence to take his wife, Virginia, for proper medical treatment while the law takes it course accordingly on him.
Mrs Elizabeth Nwali, Chairperson of the centre, gave the order on Thursday in Abakaliki.
Nwali disclosed that Eze, husband to the victim, had been maltreating his wife since they got marriage in 2013.
She said that the victim had been bleeding after her husband beat her with her three-month-old pregnancy.
She described the act as barbaric and promised that justice would be served accordingly and the perpetrator would be brought to book to serve as deterrent to others.
“The beating led to miscarriage and since then no treatment and care had come from the perpetrator.
“You can see how skinny she looks and worn-out because of the bleeding.
“We want him to carryout proper medical care on his wife before we prosecute him,” Nwali said.
Narrating her ordeal, the victim said her husband accused her of adultery while he took in another woman after meting various inhuman treatments on her.
“My husband beat me always and hit me on my stomach, he wants me dead,” she said.
The Perpetrator alleged hat his wife was not faithful and demanded she swear to an oath.
Meanwhile, a Legal Practitioner, Mr Stephen Ogenyi, Councilor for Ngbo West-East in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state, promised to monitor and ensure that the victim gets proper medical care.
Ogenyi also promised to support and provide better livelihood to enable the victim take care of her five children. (NAN)
