365Daily – Wife of Nigeria’s President, Aisha Buhari, has deactivated her Twitter account.
This came hours after the government announced a suspension of Twitter’s operations in Nigeria.
She said on Friday, June 4, 2021: “I will be deactivating my twitter account for now. Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Nigerians could not access the social media network on Saturday, June 5, 2021.
Many have said they will use Virtual Private Network (VPN) providers to establish a protected network connection when using public networks.
365Daily had reported that Nigeria’s Information Minister Lai Mohammed, announced the suspension of the platform indefinitely two days after Twitter deleted Buhari’s post which threatened violence in the Southeast.
