Nigeria recorded 35 new cases of COVID-19 on May 22 – NCDC

365Daily – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) registered 35 new cases of Coronavirus  (COVID-19) in the country on May 22, 2021.

This was disclosed on the Agency’s website on Saturday, May 22, 2021.

It gave a breakdown of the cases as Lagos – 9, Kano-8, Yobe-7, Rivers-4, Akwa Ibom-3, FCT-2 and Katsina-1.

The new figure brings the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 to 165,979; discharged to 156,468 and deaths 2,067.

It added that they were over 7,000 active cases in the country and informed  that the NCDC’s multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, will continue to coordinate the national response activities.

The agency said that it had tested over two million people since the beginning of the pandemic on Feb. 27, 2020.
