Anambra elections: APC Parliamentary Caucus asks aspirants to put party interest above personal aspirations

365Daily – The Parliamentary Caucus of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Anambra State chapter, has urged all aspirants for the Governorship of the state to put party interests above their personal aspirations as they go about their campaigns.

This was contained in a communique issued by the caucus, which comprises of former State and National Assembly members, on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

The communique is the outcome of a meeting held by members of the caucus on Saturday, April 3, at Umueri, Anambra State.

The former legislators emphasised the need for unity and cooperation with the organs of the party (APC) with the aim of winning the election which is scheduled to hold on November 6, this year.

It said the caucus resolved ”to come together, as a united body under the APC family, to contribute to the success of the Party at the state and national levels” and to ”work assiduously, in conjunction with all existing Party organs, for the victory of the Party in this year’s gubernatorial election.”

The group added that it would ”liaise with the Party to ensure the emergence of the most electable Candidate for the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra State,” while urging all the ”aspirants to go about the campaigns with the spirit of sportsmanship, bearing in mind that the interest of the Party is more important than their personal aspirations.”

It, however, charged the APC to put in a credible process that would ensure a free and fair primaries for all the aspirants.”

Members of the group present at the meeting which was convened by Sen. Emma Anosike, include Sen. Margeret Chuba Okadigbo, Hon. Afam Ogene, Hon. Ralph Okeke, Hon. Chizor Obidigwe, Hon Chinwuba Osita, Hon. I.J Nwokeji, Hon. Emma Udegbuna, among others.
