Chief Mathias Ekweremadu, the Commissioner for Transport in Enugu State and elder brother to former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, is dead.
He reportedly died at the Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu.
The cause of his death could not be ascertained as at press time.
A source close to the deceased told 365daily that the Commissioner slumped during a meeting at the State House of Assembly complex.
He was said to have been immediately rushed to the hospital, whereupon doctors on duty confirmed him dead.
Prior to his appointment as a Commissioner in 2019, the late Ekweremadu represented Aninri state Constituency at the State House of Assembly.
He was also Chairman of Aninri Local Government Council at different times.
