…Gov. Wike has vision
Amidst glittering and colorful fireworks reflected by the brackish sea water of the Atlantic ocean, God and not gold was the given the glory of many an achievement of man.
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State made this observation Saturday evening when he commissioned the about 86 kilometers Port Harcourt-Bonny-Bille waterways jetty in Port Harcourt constructed and expanded by the administration of Gov. Wike.
“I congratulate the people of Rivers State and Gov. Wike.
“It is not just about earning revenues, being those revenues from Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) or Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), it is about having the grace of God in applying those revenues to the needs of the people. That is what I see here happening in Rivers State.
“We know that Rivers is made up of Upland and Riverine areas. We have seen roads being constructed, hostels being built and several other infrastructural developments; and we are here, just as he invited me during his first tenure to commission some jetties, again, to commission yet another important means of transportation to our people in the Riverine areas of Bonny, Bille and Nembe community in Bayelsa State; and, indeed, in almost all the Riverine communities of Rivers State,” Tambuwal said.
Describing the project as a very important one “that will go a long way in further providing and making transportation easy; and indeed easier for the people of these areas,” he explained that it will also simplify movements of goods and services, improve businesses, communication and safety.of the people.
He showered praises on Gov. Wike. “As a governor, this is highly commendable. I commend you for your foresight for what you have been doing in Rivers State for the service of the people. As I said yesterday, you have justified the confidence of the people of Rivers State even as you still have two years and some months to run the affairs of the state.”
“I know that,” Gov. Wike “does not believe in half measures,” he noted.
