Benue Govt declares work-free days for Easter celebrations

The Benue State Government has declared Thursday, Friday, and Monday as work-free days for all civil servants in recognition of the Easter Triduum’s significance to the Christian community.

Governor Alia who announced this in statement Tuesday said the aim is to enable civil servants to fully participate in the sacred celebrations and observances.

The statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Serumun Aber in Makurdi declared Thursday, Friday, and Monday as work-free days for all civil servants.

According to the statement, all government offices, ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) will remain closed during these days.

Governor Alia encouraged all citizens to use this opportunity to reflect, recharge, and spend quality time with loved ones.

The governor equally extends his warmest wishes to all Christians in Benue State and beyond, praying that the Easter celebrations bring joy, peace, and spiritual renewal to all.

He also expressed hopes that the period of reflection and celebration will rejuvenate and strengthen citizens in their faith and service to humanity, which according to him is aimed at fostering determination for a greater Benue.
