365Daily – Immediate past Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, has added his voice to the controversy surrounding the identity of bishops who attended the unveiling ceremony of Sen. Kashim Shettima as the Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on Sunday, July 24, 2022, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, he said it was a fact that the controversial people who attended the event were Christians, if not bishops.
“Those bishops you saw (Kashim Shettima’s unveiling ceremony), they may not be bishops, but they are Christians,” he said.
There was widespread outrage after pictures of some bishops who attended the ceremony emerged on social media, as they were labelled fake.
The campaign office of Sen. Bola Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of the APC, has denied that the bishops who attended the ceremony were fake or paid.
It said in a statement signed by its spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, that they were clerics who were just building up their missions.
