365Daily – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed the price of its gubernatorial nominations and express of interest forms for Ekiti and Osun States at N22.5million.
The primary election for both states will hold on Saturday, January 22, 2022, for Ekiti and Saturday, March 5, 2022, for Osun.
The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Sen. John James Akpanudodehe, made this known in a notice of the party’s approved timetable and schedule of activities for the Ekiti and Osun Governorship Elections.
He explained that while the nomination form costs N20 million, the expression of interest form costs N2.5million.
However, female aspirants and physically challenged sspirants are to pay 50% of the prescribed fees.
The release of the timetable and schedule of activities is sequel to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s announcement of June 18, 2022 and July 16, 2022 for the governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun States, respectively.
Akpanudodehe said the guidelines and schedule of activities was in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) and INEC guidelines.
The schedule for Ekiti State is as follows: Notice of election to the State Chapter holds from Monday 15 November, 2021.
Sale of forms at APC National Secretariat begins on Tuesday, 16th November, 2021, while the final day for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents to the APC National Secretariat is Tuesday, 11th January, 2022.
Screening of aspirants will hold on Thursday, 13th January, 2022, with publication of claims and objections following on Monday, 17th January, 2022.
Screening appeals was scheduled for Wednesday 19th January, 2022 and primary Election holds on Saturday, 22nd January, 2022.
Election Appeal was fixed for Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
For Osun State, Notice of Election to the State Chapter will hold on Wednesday 17th November, 2022; sale of forms will statt on Thursday, November 18, 2021 and last day for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents at the APC National Secretariat is Friday, February 18, 2022.
Screening of aspirants will hold on Tuesday, February 22, 2022; publication of claims and objections on Friday, February 25, 2022 and screening and appeals, Monday, February 28, 2022.
Election Appeal will hold on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
