The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has extended its condolences to the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, following the death of his mother, Mrs. Mary Amaechi.
The message was conveyed in a statement shared on Thursday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, through his official X account.
The opposition party, speaking on behalf of its National Chairman, Senator David Mark, the National Working Committee, and members across the country, expressed sympathy to the Amaechi family, describing the late Mrs. Amaechi as a devoted mother and matriarch whose values and sacrifices left a lasting impact on her family and those around her.
According to the statement, the influence of a mother extends beyond her immediate household through the principles she imparts, the sacrifices she makes, and the positive legacy she leaves behind.
The ADC acknowledged the profound grief that comes with the loss of a mother but expressed confidence that the family would find comfort in the memories of her life and the values she upheld.
The party also prayed that the memories of Mrs. Amaechi, together with the support and prayers of Nigerians, would provide strength and solace to the bereaved family during the period of mourning.
It further offered prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul, asking God to grant Mrs. Mary Amaechi eternal rest while blessing her family with comfort, strength, and peace as they cope with the loss.
