365Daily – Founder, Tunde Onakoya, on Wednesday returned to a festive welcome after beating the Guinness World Record for the longest-ever chess marathon which held at Times Square, New York, in the United States of America.
Clocking an impressive 60 hours and his United States counterpart, Shawn Martinez, broke the record of Norwegian players, Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad, who played for 56-hour, 9-minute in 2018.
He was welcomed back home with singing and dancing at the airport.
The new record holder had attempted to raise a million dollars for educational support for slums in Africa, as well as awareness for providing educational opportunities to underprivileged children across the continent.
