Cubana Chief Priest pleads not guilty to naira abuse, granted N10m bail

The accused plead not guilty to the charges at the arraignment at the Federal High Court in Lagos

365Daily – About a week after celebrity crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, A.K.A Bobrisky, was sentenced to six months imprisonment without fine for abusing the naira, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, for the same offence.

The accused plead not guilty to the charges at the arraignment at the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Presiding judge, Justice Kehinde Ogundare granted bail to the accused in the sum of N10 million. He is to produce two sureties in like sum..

The three-count charge against Cubana Chief Priest are centred on alleged spraying and tampering with the Naira notes at a social event contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.
