Abductors of wife and cook of the former chief of staff to the immediate past governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, Pastor Terwase Orbunde, has demanded a ransom of N100m for the release of the two abductees.
The former Benue governorship aspirant on the platform of the APC himself sustained gunshot injuries during the last Friday attack.
He also told journalists in a statement that the abductors spoke with him at about 8:00am on Saturday, by themselves and through their captives, adding that during the phone discussion, his wife and their cook were very calm when the kidnappers gave them phone to speak with him.
The former chief of staff also explained that during the attack which took place at about 6:00pm last Friday, the gunmen spoke Fulfulde language among themselves, but communicated with him in Hausa and said they would contact him on phone.
According to him, the gunmen equally asked him to be prepared to send money to them, else they would kill his wife and cook.
Investigation has revealed that the gunmen on Friday last week attacked the former chief of staff to the immediate past governor when he allegedly went to supervise work on his farmland located between Genocide Cemetery and Angus Memorial College along Mobile Barracks Welfare Quarters Road Makurdi, Benue State.
He was allegedly shot on the forearm while his wife Abigail Kashimana Orbunde and cook, Patience Ogute, were abducted and taken to an unknown destination.
Until the time of filing this report, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO of Benue State Command, SP Sewuese Anene has not responded on the abduction of the two victims.
