Army rescues 18 kidnapped victims in Sokoto

The Sokoto Garrison Command of the Nigerian Army has saved eighteen kidnapped children said to be from Gidan Bakuso in Gada local government of Sokoto state.

The children were received by the Commissioner for Health, Hajiya Asabe Balarabe, as directed by Governor Ahmad Aliyu.

The 17 Almajiri boys and one aged woman were kidnapped two weeks ago by bandits that stormed the locality.

Hajiya Asabe as directed by governor Ahmad Aliyu was to test their health status before handing them over to respective local government administrators who in turn would hand them over to their parents.

It was confirmed that they were kidnapped on the 8th of this month and were saved on Thursday this week.

Member state House of Assembly Haruna Dauda who confirmed this commended the troops for the effort.
