365Daily – Julius Abure has been affirmed the authentic chairman of the Labour Party (LP) by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja.

The Justice Hamman Barka-led three-member panel of the court delivered the judgement on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in a ruling on an appeal filed by Mr Abure challenging the decision of the verdict of a Federal Capital Territory High Court.

Justice Barka held that Abure’s appeal had merit and was accordingly allowed, adding that the high court lacked jurisdiction on the matter.

It, therefore, set aside the verdict by Justice Hamza Muazu of the FCT High Court who last year restrained Mr Abure and two others from parading themselves as national officers of the party over alleged forgery of national documents.

“The judgement of the lower court is hereby set aside,” Justice Barka declared, and awarded a N1 million fine in favour of Abure.
