Kebbi Governor’s Aides Forum donates N20m to indigents

We thank the governor for choosing us among our pairs to serve under him and by extension people of our dear state

An organised forum of special advisers to the governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, weekend, donated N20 million to support the ongoing Kebbi State Government empowerment programme.

Speaking, on behalf of the members, the state chairman of the forum, Alhaji Kabiru Sani Giant, said that the unanimous decision taken to donate N20 million to the poor in the state was borne out of the situation in the country to help mitigate the effects of petrol subsidy removal.

He revealed that the forum raised the money through agreed deductions from the members’ monthly salaries to support the empowerment programme, which seeks to give lifelines to the poor who can do something with their hands once they have the capital.

The special adviser on power and politics further said that a committee saddled with the responsibility to bring out the real needy from the 21 local governments has been set up to judiciously disburse the funds to the target beneficiaries in the state.

Similarly, the forum codenamed KSSAF has also substituted some of the executive members for effectiveness.

Kabir thanked the governor for giving them opportunity to serve him and serve the entire people of the state.

“We thank the governor for choosing us among our pairs to serve under him and by extension people of our dear state. We will continue as a forum and individuals continue to support the governor’s humanitarian gestures”, he added.
