Aiyedatiwa appoints ex-NASS clerk as deputy gov

The position of the deputy governor became vacant after Aiyedatiwa, who was the deputy governor, was sworn in as Ondo State governor.

365Daily – The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has unveiled a former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Olaide Adelami, as the deputy governor of the state.

This follows the sack of all the commissioners and special advisers earlier in the day.

A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, disclosed that “hi nomination will be announced by the House of Assembly later today.”

Adelami retired as Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly l in April 2018. He hails hails from Owo, Owo Local Government Area, the same LGA of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

He was an APC governorship aspirant in 2020 but stepped down for the late Akeredolu.

The position of the deputy governor became vacant after Aiyedatiwa, who was the deputy governor, was sworn in as Ondo State governor on December 27, 2023, following the death of Governor Akeredolu from prostate cancer.
