Six primary school pupils abducted in Nasarawa – Police

A joint team of police operatives, soldiers and vigilante groups has been dispatched to apprehend the suspects and rescue the victims.

365Daily – Six pupils of a primary school were on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Alwaza, a community in Doma Local Government Area, the police in Nasarawa State, has disclosed.

The Spokesman of Nasarawa State Police Command, Rahman Nansel, confirmed the incident, adding that an operation to rescue the abducted pupils led by the police commissioner, Maiyaki Muhammad-Baba, has commenced.

Nansel added that a joint team of police operatives, soldiers and vigilante groups has been dispatched to apprehend the suspects and rescue the victims who were abducted on their way to the school around 7 a.m.

Institutions of learning have been frequently targeted by bandits in North-central and North-west Nigeria for kidnap for ransom.

Kaduna, Niger and Zamfara States have been most hit by the attacks.

Nigerian security forces has minimised their attacks across the states with sustained onslaught on their enclaves.
