365Daily – It was all glitters, glorious colours, conviviality, solidarity and panache, as dignitaries across politics, corporate world and the academia, gathered to honour Dr. Jerry Nwohu, an urbane political strategist and socialite, as he gave his daughter, Tracy, out in marriage in Abuja.
The well attended marriage ceremony which took place at the Meeting Point Event Center, Gudu District of Abuja, on Saturday, December 17, 2022, was graced by political bigwigs across different regions of the nation. They included Obong Victor Attah, former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, former Governor of Ondo State and Senator George Akume (former Governor of Benue State) who was represented by his former deputy, Chief Stephen Lawani, as the father of the day.
Dr Fayemi, who was the Chairman of the occasion came with his lovely wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi. In his remarks the former governor of Ekiti State admonished the young couple on the need for mutual love, understanding, and tolerance, as he prayed for God’s blessings and prosperity for the new couple.
He noted that the gathering of dignitaries at the wedding was a clear testimony of the social standing and engineering of the bride’s parents, who, he said, have built enduring relationships with people from different backgrounds and statuses.
Highlight of the event was the traditional breaking of kola, by Eze (Dr) Nwosu MFR to mark the official solemnisation of the marriage.
Guests were treated to different meals and choice drinks as the couple and their families danced to music dished out by a standby band at the joyous occasion.
The couple, Tracy and Samuel, also took to the dance floor to the admiration of their parents and dignatries.
Other dignitaries at the colourful event included Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba SAN, former Senate Leader; Senator Femi Odebiyi; elder statesman, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun; former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere; former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Engr Patrick Ekpotu; and former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko and Chief (Barrister) Dan Abia, former Chairman of the NDDC was not left out.
Several other dignitaries at the event were, Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi; Hon Femi Bamishile, Hon Fatoba, the Director-General of Ekiti Investment Corporation, Oska Seyi Aiyeleso, traditional rulers, among others.
Also at the event were Dr Jerry’s political colleagues from the Movement for Good Governance and Equity Leadership (MGGEL) led by His Excellency, Ambassador HK Bello, and The Jagaban National Coalition, JNC, led by the National Coordinator, High Chief Kayode Ajayi; Future Now Initiatives’ DG, Ahmed Sajo, Ugwu Mbaise Movement; Prince Nekan Olateru Olagbegi; Senator Orji Kalu sent a powerful representative in the person of Ambassador Steve Ugwa; immediate past Ambassdor to Russia, Prof Jude Adibe; Prof Udenta Udenta; and some military and security top shots.
Though, the dignitaries do not all share same political ideas and opinions but were brought under same roof by their relationship with Dr. Nwohu, the bride’s father, who connects and networks with diverse people in a manner that defines him as a silent bridge builder and efficient political strategist.
